Original Sin

The protocol that God followed in the creation of creatures was to deliver the gift of life and the gift of paradise to them simultaneously. Simultaneous delivery was the protocol that God followed. God delivered the gift of life and the gift of paradise simultaneously to Lucifer. He did the same for the gaggle of angels who follow Lucifer. He did so for Eve. He did so for Adam. He did so for the prodigal son. Yet, God, in dismay, witnessed them fumble the ball. All of them let the gift of paradise slip through their fingers. The gift giving process was flawed. The flaw was not on the giving side of the process. The flaw was on the receiving side. Butterfingers is the colloquial term that is applied to this problem. In religious jargon, we call the problem original sin. God's creatures had the gift of paradise in hand but they did not keep it.

Is the problem presented in the story of Adam and Eve the problem of getting the gift of paradise or the problem of keeping the gift of paradise? Is the problem presented in the story of the prodigal son the problem of getting the gift of paradise or the problem of keeping the gift of paradise? To which problem did God design a solution?

How do we get the children of Adam and Eve to keep the gift of paradise without having to turn paradise into a prison, God into a warden, and them into prisoners? A cage is still a cage no matter how gilded. How do we do this while respecting their free will?
