The Holy Spirit is tugging at our souls. The curious are following the tug back home to its source. Along the way, the curious are exploring the mystery, majesty and magnificence of God. Are you curious?
We are tour guides who point out the places to go and the sights to see to the curious tourists of Christianity as they explore for themselves the mystery, majesty and magnificence of God. “Look over there!” “Look over there!” We exclaim.
Within the boundaries of Christianity, many are the places to go and the sights to see. Each is wonderful in its own unique way. Surely you have compiled a list of the wonders of Christianity? What is on your list? What is at the top of your list? Why? [Question: does the demonstration of divinity that took place on the road from the Crucifixion to the Resurrection occupy a spot on your list? It is the firm foundation on which we rest our understanding of God.]
Only God stimulates the curiosity of the tourists of Christianity.
The surest and quickest way to kill the curiosity of the tourists of Christianity is to kick God out of the limelight of the conversation and into the dark shadows of the periphery of Christianity.
Therefore, more revelation; less regulation. More Mary; less Martha. More pizzazz; less nitty gritty. No change in doctrine; just a change in emphasis - a tweak, nothing more. CAN WE BRING GOD BACK INTO THE CONVERSATION? Can we devote at least 50% of the conversation to God? Is 50% too much to ask?
