The Valley of Tears is the vessel that holds the ruins of Eden. We live like loveless beasts among the ruins. God wants us to rebuild the Valley of Tears (Isaiah 61:4). He does not want us to escape from it (John 17:15). He wants to raise us up from the level of the most miserable and hideous of loveless beast to the level of our loving God - from the basement of the kingdom of God to the penthouse. He wants us to fill our hearts to the brim with love. Why? Love is needed to wage war against evil. Love is the weapon that defeats evil. Love is toxic to evil. The seeds of evil do not grow in the soil of love. Love smothers evil as water smothers fire. God wants Armageddon (Revelation 16:16). He wants us to deliver the coup de grace to evil. How? God wants us to pour the sweet syrup of love into the Valley of Tears to dilute its bitterness. Jesus was the first drop. Jesus wants us to turn the drop into a flood. Jesus planted the seeds of forgiveness into the soil of our hearts. The seeds of forgiveness grow into trees of love. The trees of love bear fruit "some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold" (Matthew 13:8). In the gardens of the new Eden, many will enjoy the fruits of the trees of love. When the gardens of the new Eden grow, the catastrophe of Adam and Eve is reversed - the fall is undone.
Love turns the Valley of Tears into the gardens of the new Eden. Therefore, cling to love, hold tight and refuse to let go. Cling as Jesus clung - hang as Jesus hung. Irrigate the Valley of Tears with love. Jesus started the process of re-establishing the gardens of the new Eden in the Valley of Tears. He did not complete it. He was the first drop . Our mission is to turn the drop into a flood . The goal is to inundate the Valley of Tears with love. The gardens of the new Eden grow drop by drop.
What is the “game” that we are playing? What is the big picture? What is the context of our existence? What is the purpose of life?
What is the equation that God engineered on the road from the Crucifixion to the Resurrection?
Adam and Eve were privileged. They only knew good. They did not know evil. God did not want them to know evil. He made them innocent. The serpent offered to Eve the full spectrum of knowledge - both the knowledge of good and the knowledge of evil. The serpent sugarcoated the knowledge of evil with the testimony that possessing the full spectrum of knowledge would deify them. Yet, the serpent failed to reveal the cost of acquiring the knowledge of evil. The rest you know.
What is the “game” that we are playing? What is the big picture? What is the context of our existence? What is the purpose of life?
Why does God let us stew in the evils of the Valley of Tears like pickles in a barrel of toxic brine?
Love deifies us. Love raises us up from the level of the most miserable and hideous of loveless beast to the level of our loving God - from the basement of the kingdom of God to the penthouse.
Whose job is it to rebuild the gardens of the new Eden here and now in the Valley of Tears? We think its God’s job. God thinks its our job. There is a difference in opinions. God’s prevails.
Which is more important? the Mass or the road from the Crucifixion to the Resurrection? Why?
Instead of trying to reorganize God’s thinking around our plan for ourselves, is it possible to reorganize our thinking around God’s plan for us? Can we pivot around God instead of trying to get God to pivot around us? Can we regroup and sally forth into the Valley of Tears with an understanding of what God wants us to do not what we want done?
Armageddon is here and now. We are not fighting for something in the hereafter. The battle is now. Now is the time to join Jesus in the scrum at the line of scrimmage in the Valley of Tears facing off against Evil toe to toe, cheek to jowl. Christianity is not a sport for spectators. Christians partake in the fray.
From his heart, our hearts receive a transfusion of love. The transfusion of love is invigorating. It vivifies us. It brings the dead to life (Luke 15:32) (John 3:3).
Are we on the same page as God? Our perception of the problem is the same as God’s. The problem is the bitterness of the Valley of Tears. The sour truth plays rough. It bites. It chews us up and spits us out as bits and pieces. Furthermore, its tongue is as sharp as its teeth. Its tongue generates virulent anti-God propaganda. Our perception of the solution , however is different. We want God to address the bitterness of the Valley of Tears. God wants us to address it. He wants us to dilute it (John 17:15) as sugar cubes dilute the bitterness of a cup of bad coffee.. God wants us to pour the sweet syrup of love into the bitterness of the Valley of Tears. There is a difference in opinions. His prevails
Jesus was the first drop. He started the process of irrigating the Valley of Tears with love. However, he did not complete it. It is our job to turn the drop into a flood. Jesus planted the seeds of forgiveness into the soil of our hearts (Jeremiah 17:8). The seeds of forgiveness turn into trees of love (Matthew 13:8) so that, in the gardens of the new Eden, many can enjoy the fruits of love (Matthew 13:31-32). From Jesus, the gardens of the new Eden are encroaching into the Valley of Tears drop by drop one Christian at a time. Watch his garden grow!
