The Fruits of Love

Jesus set the foundation of the kingdom of God on the rock of love (Matthew 7:24-27).

And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18)

Love is a tree that produces sweet fruit “ "some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold"  (Matthew 13:8). Forgiveness is one of the sweet fruits of love. So is feeding our neighbors. Jesus told Peter to feed his sheep and lambs (John 21:10-17) because Jesus wanted Peter to be the rock of love (Matthew 7:24-27) that produces sweet fruit for his sheep.

Only by reading (Matthew 16:18) and (John 21:10-17) together do we get an understanding that the job of the Papacy is to love us as Jesus loved us. Jesus loved us even though we tortured and killed him - even though we made him suffer and die. Hence, it is not an easy job.
